The Wall Street Journalbrings a bit of breaking news today. Steve & Barry's - the once boring, then buzzed-about mall brand - is apparently deep in the red and will be closing at least 100 stores. Apparently, despite our friends Sarah Jessica Parker, Amanda Bynes, Stephon Marbury and Laird Hamilton, selling merch for $8.98 doesn't exactly leave much of a profit. So, for all of those who wondered and wondered how the company could afford to sell their basic but well designed wares so inexpensively...now we know. Ya can't.
