The Joy of the Male Dandy

So, I'm a tad late on this one but I finally sat down yesterday, post holiday, and enjoyed the last 5 episodes Gossip Girlin it's entirety (aren't DVR's awesome?) Obviously, Gossip Girl 's clothing choices are a major source of fashion blog fodder these days but I wanted pay homage in particular to the fabulously over-the-top style of Chuck Bass, played by Brit cutie Ed Westwick. Bass is a classic dandy, donning bold color and bright patterns with a snug fit. His character also fits nicely into the other connotations for the word too. Wikipedia defines 'dandy' as:

A dandy[1]
(also known as a beau, gallant or flamboyant person[2]) is a man who
places particular importance upon physical appearance, refined language, and leisurely hobbies. Historically, especially in late 18th- and early 19th-century Britain, a dandy, who was self-made, often strove to imitate an aristocratic style of life despite coming from a middle-class background.

What do you think of Chuck Bass's style? Is it delightfully over-the-top or brash and crass (like his character?)
