Up next in the Designer's Choice series is designer Christine Rhee of the up and coming collection, CRHEE. She says:
"This dress (below) is my favorite of the collection. With CRHEE, I'm constantly trying to create clothes that have contrasting characteristics but work together aesthetically and I feel like this dress does that the most successfully. In terms of silhouette, it's a very loose, easy figure-flattering shirtdress but when you factor in the transparency and the opaque silk panels, the dress is anything but easy. It almost has a hard look to it. Aesthetically, the shoulder seams are my favorite part.
I'm inspired by lots of different things. For this season, specifically, I was inspired by the movie Gattaca. I was also really interested in looking to pop music from the 80s, specifically Orchestral Manouevres in the Dark. I read an article about them once and they were known to say that they all they really wanted to do was create intelligent pop and I kind of feel the same way."
