Up next in the Designer's Choice series is Israeli designer Ronit Genik of Reverie. A graduate of Parsons, her collection debuted in Fall 2007 and is currently sold in some very carefully curated boutiques. Ronit's favorite piece from the new Spring 2009 Reverie collection is the feminine but edgy dress above, which I am loving. Of it, she says-
"This dress is one of my favorite pieces from collection because the print that I created is inspired by deep space, constellations and stars.
I have always loved astronomy and the beautiful images that the gases, stars and sunlight created- its magical. The colors and shapes are ethereal. I was inspired by those images to create prints and use special details and trims like Swarovski crystals, metal studs, and special buttons. I also named each style in the collection after a different constellation and recreated the constellation patterns on tops and dresses with crystals, which are whimsical and elegant. I mixed this concept with feminine silhouettes that are wearable and fun."
What do you think of the Reverie dress above? Could it find a place in your wardrobe?
