WWD broke the news yesterday that Halston, the iconic RTW collection, is eschewing the runway this season in favor of a video project.
The short film stars Dree Hemingway (granddaughter of Ernest) as a "modern-day Halstonette, gliding from uptown to downtown, experiencing all walks of New York City life, with different vignettes outfitted in Halston’s fall collection."
Stay tuned, I'll post the video when it's available but in the meantime, the question is: Can a film be a substitute for a runway show or more traditional presentation for buyers and the mainstream fashion press? It'll be v. interesting to see how the project is received!

It amazing to see a runway show but I think having something like this is another way to see the clothes in the everyday and to truly grasp the movement of it!
