Designer Christian Cota (Fashion Group International's Rising Star 2009) showcased his lovely Fall 2009 collection in a presentation at the Metropolitan Pavilion this evening.
Designing for "survivors", Cota took metaphor from the global economic crisis and was inspired by geology and the elements of nature, including crystal, water, lava and stone. The designer's palette for Fall included subdued but gorgeous metallics - mineral nude linings brushed with gold-toned pyrite, silvery gray galena and rusted cinnabar.
