My Monday started off as many Mondays do, with an intense desire for caffeine. But THIS Monday was different, as it marked Day 1 of a planned three day Blueprint Cleanse.
So, instead, I drank one of Blueprint's decidedly delicious (really, I swear) green juices, which includes a host of good for you vegetables and fruit, including kale, celery, cucumber, parsley, green apple and lemon. Later in the morning, I drank a bottle of my very favorite BPC concoction - the Pineapple, Apple, Mint. I felt satiated - not hungry - but truth be told, more than a little cloudy from lack of caffeine and presumably, solid food. I couldn't focus and I felt enormously cranky.
At about 4pm, I gave into my desires and hit Starbucks for a divine turkey, cranberry and pesto sandwich (never has a sandwich tasted so good...really) and a venti Iced Coffee. While I felt like a failure, I also felt a million times better A.S. (after sandwich, that is.)
While I plan to drink a few of my remaining Blueprint Cleanse juices (I had ordered a Three Day Cleanse, $195), I'll definitely do so as part of a balanced diet - i.e. one for breakfast and perhaps a mid-afternoon snack. I can only speak for myself but solid food (and coffee!) are where it's at!
