Guest OOTD: Old Navy Citizen Surplus Cargos

When I hear the words "cargo pants" my mind instantly drifts to the summers I served as a camp counselor running after bad ass kids on a sugar high. I also think of the icky cargos and oversized white shirt I had to wear all throughout college since I served as an orientation leader, every summer, ushering in the Class of Whatever year. Needless to say when I was given a pair of Old Navy Ankle-Zip Skinny "Citizen Surplus" Cargos, I had mixed feelings. Did I really want to look like I was off to pull some kid by the hand and make sure they ate their lunch?

But all was good when I realized it was a tight (but comfy) fit- my rule when it comes to bottoms is the tighter the better. Not to mention the funky side zipper was an added bonus. Normally cropped pants make me look awkward but I'm kinda diggin this one. Since I'm no fashionista, trying to work an outfit around these cargos was quite the challenge. And in my truly tacky self I reached for an animal print top and faux leather jacket. Let's not even discuss the footwear.

  • Faux leather jacket: Forever 21
  • Leopard print top: Wet Seal
  • Pants: Old Navy
  • Ballet flats: AE for Payless
  • Bracelets: H&M
  • Watch: Juicy Couture

Thanks to the adorbs Eileen Dautruche of Miss Whoever You Are for her Guest OOTD incorporating Old Navy's Citizen Surplus Cargos!

FTC Disclosure: Old Navy sent the Surplus Cargos for potential review on site. In a size 2.  Which is why you see Eileen wearing them, and not me.
