Kenneth Cole is one of those terribly iconic American designers - as well known for his smart sportswear and spectacular accessories as he is for his absolutely genius, socially aware and though-provoking marketing. But rather surprisingly, Kenneth Cole has been a bit late to this whole internet party that we've been having online for a few years now. In fact, a few weeks ago, I was invited to the brand's Midtown West headquarters for their first ever foray into the blogosphere, a very chic dinner to fete the Spring 2011 collection, hosted by the designer himself.
The evening, all told, was magical. I was in the company of many of my favorite fellow bloggers and we enjoyed an amazing dinner that was inspired by the Spring 2011 collection's inspiration - namely the rain forest, the desert and the mountains.
Overwhelmingly white - and wearable!, the collection was the perfect marriage of urban safari and also included a few inspired prints and pops of bright citrus colors, namely tangerine and citron. A clear star was a yellow silk dress - so fresh and modern - and let's not forget the shoes, perhaps what Kenneth Cole is best known for. I left coveting a sleek white wedge and an edgy, seasonless olive green mesh and leather bootie.
