Designer Alejandro Ingelmo must have some serious issues with women. After all, no man who LOVES women would dream of designing a shoe so impossibly beautiful, yet so astonishingly difficult to walk in.
The Thriller bootie, seen above, came into my life this week courtesy of Gilt Groupe. I was seduced (as I am prone to be) by whispered promises, a sky high heel with built in platform, leather, suede, the usual. $399 and one day later, this gorgeous and beautifully-made pair of booties arrived at my desk.
But when I test drove them on my office carpet, I was forced to acknowledge the obvious. These shoes are not made for walking. They're made for fucking, crushing the hearts of men, something else entirely. Perhaps, you are not surprised. They do boast, after all, a six inch (really) heel, including a 1.5 inch platform.
It turns out that I'm not the only one who suffers for Ingelmo's footwear creations. The designer himself admitted to New York Magazine's The Cut, "I've tried them on once before when an ex-girlfriend dared me — I didn't make it too far."
Do you have any shoes that make you cry out for mercy? Do tell in the comments.
