After a few seasons of stacking bangles and bracelets, it feel pretty fresh to embrace simplicity in jewelry again. All I've been wearing in recent months, in fact, is a single slender bangle (I like Vita Fede), a delicate hand bracelet like this one, or (when I want a stronger look), a simple gold watch like this beauty from Citizen.
Part of Citizen's Sunrise collection, two years in the making, its design is inspired by the morning dew and features a luminescent Mother-of-Pearl dial, and two-tone stainless steel case. While I certainly see the appeal of an all stainless steel watch, I LOVE the contrast between the mixed metals here - it makes getting dressed in the morning easy given how obsessive I can be about matching metals - not only when it comes to jewelry but even handbag and shoe hardware.
The Sunrise collection is designed with function in mind as well as well as form - it's water resistant, boasts Japanese quartz movement, and as with all Citizen Eco-Drive watches, it's powered by light - in fact, you'll never need a battery again.
The Citizen Sunrise retails for $350 here.
