As an alum and an obsessive jewelry collector, I was THRILLED to be invited to participate in a VERY SPECIAL partnership with jewelry design students at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology recently.
Designed to elevate Palladium, an emerging precious metal that's recently been incorporated in Tiffany’s new handbag collection, as well as in fashion jewelry designs by by peeps like Marc Jacobs, I've partnered with two students from FIT's Jewelry Department (the lovely Amy Fu and Inhwa Choi, seen above) to create a one-of-a-kind, custom piece of Palladium jewelry (a dream come true for a jewelry lover like MOI!)
Late last year, I sat down with my partners in crime jewelry design (above) and chatted through what I love and what I don't when it comes to jewelry. And while I don't want to give TOO much away, I've already seen sketches of my three-dimensional Palladium statement bangle...and wow! Their concepts are amazing, and I can't wait to see the final piece in just a few short months - stay tuned for pics!
pssst > Palladium also JUST announced a collaboration with one of my fave designers - Dame Vivienne Westwood - who will be creating a limited edition collection called “Get a Life”. The collection plays off of her love of nature and is intended to raise awareness about climate change and how we as people are causing changes in nature. My interest is piqued - how about yours?
