The Beauty of Chanel

$45.00 by Chanel at Saks Fifth Avenue

Generally speaking, I advocate simplicity in skincare, as opposed to luxury. But Chanel's Mousse Douceur (or Foaming Cleanser, $45) is the perfect marriage of the two.

While I'm often tempted to hit the sack without removing my makeup and washing my face, this gentle, foaming cleanser removes city grime and makeup (I avoid just the eye area) in a New York minute. It's a pleasure to use thanks to the dreamy texture and quite concentrated, so just a little goes a long way.

I follow up in the evening with Chanel Ultra Correction Lift Ultra Firming Night Cream ($165) - a rich cream that sinks into skin instantly, delivering a solid dose of moisture along with proprietary anti-aging ingredients. I'm blessed to be relatively line and wrinkle-free, so it's hard to say if Ultra Correction Lift will visibly improve the signs of aging. But I'm all about preventative measures, so for now, I'll keep slathering it on and hoping for the best.
