It's been a loooong, dreary winter in New York, and as warmer weather approaches, all I can think about is swapping out my wardrobe for a new season. Drab (though admittedly loved!) winter coats traded in for the perfect transitional trench, dark rinsed denim exchanged for a crisp white crop, and of course, boots and booties shelved in favor of brighter, more open shoes.
While I'm admittedly stocked up on footwear to last a lifetime, there are three key trends that I'm aiming to incorporate into my closet this season:
1: The Statement Wedge, a la Suno for Loeffler Randall, seen above. Simply put, nothing beats a wedge for both height and walkability and I love that these will add a necessary pop to my most basic day-to-day looks.
2: The Flatform. Guaranteed to repel men left and right, the flatform is essentially a platform with no wedge. I inexplicably bought into this trend several years ago, before it even EXISTED (I'm so forward), when I snagged Loeffler Randall's Claudette (see them IRL on another blogger here) on sale, so I'm good. Whatever you do, don't buy more than one pair of these. They're tricky to walk in and scream trendy.
3: A Refined Flat Sandal. Seen on countless Spring '11 runways, the return to a chic, simple sandal is reason to celebrate. I dig the assortment seen at VivaLaDiva.com Designer Shoes, including this modern gladiator from Ravel Gaultier.
Do tell! What Spring '11 trends will you be embracing, rejecting, etc?
