Heavy Metal: The Palladium Project Makes My Jewelry Dream Comes True

Jewelry is among my greatest loves, and whether that's something to be proud of or a sad statement on my life, I'm not prepared to comment. But as discussed a few months ago, I was exceptionally excited to be invited to collaborate on a jewelry design project with the folks at Palladium (a naturally white precious metal belonging to the platinum family) and two students from the Fashion Institute of Technology's (OH HAI, my alma mater!) highly selective Jewelry Design program, the darling Amy Fu and Inhwa Choi.

After chatting through my inspiration in our initial meeting- namely the beauty of nature, including waves, mountains, and valleys - the girls went through an in depth design and development process and ultimately created the spectacular Palladium ring seen above.  For those of you who have never experienced Palladium,  I urge you to BUY A TICKET and GET ON BOARD. It's perfect for fine jewelry, as it maintains its color and shape over time, is light and exceptionally strong.

While my piece is essentially one-of-a-kind (there were only four made, and then the cast was destroyed!), you'll soon be able to purchase a Palladium piece of your own designed by Dame Vivienne Westwood - via the Get a Life collection. I received a v. special sneak preview at the unveiling event for The Palladium Project and it's worthy of a WOW.
