It's funny how a new accessory can give you a new perspective on style, and dare I say it, a new perspective on life. Take, for example, a handbag, or much more specifically the Celine Luggage Tote. While it's borderline antithetical to my tastes (which lean downtown), I've looooooong been tempted by this beauty of a bag, known in many New York circles as the preferred fashion bitch carry all (move aside, Goyard.)
Available in a myriad of colors (oh, fire engine red, why didn't I snag you when you were avail?) and sizes ranging from Small to Extra Large, I remember the moment my friend Felicia Sullivan snagged this bag last year like it was YESTERDAY, and I've coveted, nay, been tempted relentlessly by the Celine since.
Thankfully, my urge has been satiated for the MOMENT by a quick bag swap that Felicia and I are doing for the week. As you see above, she's appropriated my favorite bag - the Balenciaga Giant Covered City in Raisin - and it 'tears down' her uptown, preppy look quite nicely. Meanwhile, I've paired the boundlessly chic and structured Celine Luggage Tote in Ink with a relatively classic look of my own. Head to toe:
