It's not every evening that I get to spend QT with an incredibly talented and yes, devastatingly handsome gent like Ed Burns, but gosh...I wish it were. Last week, I had the great pleasure of joining the actor/director himself, along with newcomer Caitlin Fitzgerald to screen Burns' new indie flick, Newlyweds.
Shot in TriBeCa with just two cameramen and a $9,000 (nope, not missing a zero or three, but thanks for asking) budget, Newlyweds examines the toll past loves and damaged family members can take on a relationship. That said, while the subject matter may sound a little HEAVY, the film itself is a Woody Allen-esque, charming and yes, voyeuristic glimpse into a couple's self-proclaimed "easy" marriage.
Newlyweds will be available nationwide On Demand and via Digital Download beginning December 26, 2011, with a select theatrical release starting in January 2012. Check out the trailer below:
