RiRi (Hearts) MAC Summer is Here and You Want It All

Regardless of how you feel about Rihanna's music, Instagram snaps or love life, there's one thing we can all agree on - girl's gorgeous, k? And, accordingly, so is the new RiRi Hearts MAC Summer Collection, which includes not only a reissue of RiRi Woo, (only THE most gorgeously lush red lipstick on MAC's already admirable roster of reds), but ALSO these beauties:

  • RiRi Boy Matte Vivid Lavender Lipstick
  • Heaux Matte Berry Lipstick
  • Hibiscus Kiss Powder Blush Duo
  • Barbados Girl Lustre Drops (for that island-only glow, you know?)

RiRi Hearts MAC is sure to sell out in snap, so if you're interested, I'd hustle on over here.

New York Fashion Week Beauty: TRESemmé for Tracy Reese

TRESemmé Stylist Jeanie Syfu created a tousled bedhead style with a faux undercut effect for the Tracy Reese Spring 2013 show - a surprisingly edgy look that was inspired by Rihanna’s 80’s-inspired textured undercut.
To recreate this look, full of attitude and texture, follow these tips from TRESemmé Stylist Jeanie Syfu:
  • Enhance your natural texture with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Blow Dry Lotion and power dry with fingers for a loose wavy finish.  Once dry, lightly brush through hair with a paddle brush to soften the product.
  • Next, create a deep side part continuing diagonally back to the nape of the opposite side.  Clip hair to section away.
  • Using TRESemmé Mega Firm Control Gel, create a tight cornrow braid with the lower section of the hair starting behind the ear, working diagonally to the nape, and fasten with an elastic.
  • Release the top section of hair and spray TRESemmé Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo throughout for matte texture.
  • Apply TRESemmé Mega Firm Control Gel with fingers through the front hairline, leaving the rest of the hair matte, soft and loose.  Set hair with pin curl clips around the hairline and diffuse with a blow dryer on high heat for height and body.
  • Spray with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray and release clips when gel has dried. Toss hair over one shoulder for an 80's-inspired textured undercut.

Chic (in an Instant) with Stylist Extraordinaire Lori Goldstein

No matter how much I THINK I know about fashion, there's always so much more to learn. And one woman that I'd like to learn EVERYTHING from is the formidable Lori Goldstein.

I was lucky enough to be invited to her chic, homey Chelsea apartment last week to learn more about her and let me assure you that while you may not know Lori's name, you know her work.

This woman, this tiny POWERHOUSE of a woman, has styled every mega-celeb in the biz, including Demi Moore, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna and this other tiny POWERHOUSE of a woman that you may have heard of, Madonna.  She's also served as an editorial and commercial stylist (frequently working with photographers Annie Liebovitz and Steven Meisel) and as a creative consultant to brands like Vera Wang and Carolina Herrera.

But despite wearing a Prada necklace that I'd murder small children for (I digress) and having left her mark on many of the most stylish women in the world, Lori insists that what she loves most of all is working with us common folk (to be clear, those are my words, not hers) and thus, her new collection LOGO Instant Chic was born.

A QVC-exclusive, LOGO Instant Chic aims to make style both affordable and comfortable (yes, it's possible!) Chock full of essential basics with a twist - think ultra-soft cotton tees with ruching, mesh insert cardigans and a could-pass-for-vintage belt - this collection is easy to incorporate into your wardrobe and adds just the right amount of interest.

Designer's Choice: Heather Hyde

It's been a few weeks but I'm back with the latest edition of Designer's Choice today and it's a good one. Celebrity favorite (think Mischa Barton, Rihanna and Gabrielle Union) jewelry designer Heather Hyde says:

"My favorite piece this season is the "Bauble-icious" necklace from the "Reigning Chain" Collection. It is a bold, colorful piece that successfully complements just about any look. Made with textured glass pearls on a lightweight gold or silver chain, "Bauble-icious" is available in delicious colors such as blueberry, pink grapefruit, toasted almond, icy mint, grape and more.

I believe that no matter what the trend of the season, accessories should bring out an individual's personal style. I love to see how people are able to incorporate this piece into their wardrobe. I've seen this necklace looking playful with bright colored skirts and tops, elegant with wedding gowns, funky with jeans and t-shirts, daring with rock and roll attire and stunning with evening wear. The fact that it is also so versatile means you can wear it again and again."

Shop for the Bauble-icious necklace ($110, available in gold or silver tone) and more at www.heatherhyde.com.
