While it's New York Fashion Week and invitations abound, choosing an event to attend last night was easy-peasy as Hearst played host to a screening of the highly anticipated new film Mademoiselle C, hosted by Harper's Bazaar Global Fashion Director Carine Roitfeld -herself the 'C' in question!
Directed by Fabien Constant, Mademoiselle C documents the 2012 launch of CR Fashion Book. Roitfeld is (of course) one of the most recognized faces in fashion - longtime the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Paris, muse to Tom Ford, oft collaborator to the industry's finest creatives and the woman I'd (and so many others) would most like to BE.
The film itself gives an intimate and rare glimpse at the inner workings not only of Roitfeld’s professional world but also her personal life, with partner (and founder of Equipment) Christian Restoin, children Julia and Vladimir and friends ranging from Karl Lagerfeld to Tom Pecheaux. It's a beautiful film about transition, gloriously dynamic and affectionate, without the overt ass-kissery seen so often in fashion.
Mademoiselle C opens tomorrow in limited release, and nationwide on September 30.

Sin City Fans Will Wish to Watch: Gucci Guilty Black, The Director's Cut
It's been eight long years since the theatrical release of Frank Miller's epic Sin City, but the aesthetics of the film linger with me always. Thankfully, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is in the works and will release this October, 8 years after the original. If you simply can't wait until then, the new Gucci Guilty Black film should tide you over nicely.
Directed by the same Frank Miller, and starring Chris Evans and Rachel Evan Wood, the vid is dramatic and sexy - traits it shares with the scent it's intended to celebrate.

Watch This: Superdry Summer Style Series
I recently had the pleasure of paying a visit to the new Superdry flagship in Times Square. Across a staggering 14,000 square feet spread over two floors, there's a bounty of men's and women's cas gear - much of it perfect for summer. While there, I shot a quick little vid talking about my approach to summer style - in it, you'll see a few of my Superdry faves, including the super-nautical (see what I did there?) red and white striped Riva bikini.
Check it out here, and be sure to Like Superdry on Facebook to view more of their Summer Style series!

Watch This: #Ultrasuede: In Search of Halston
Few designers represented the glamour, style, and excess of the 70’s quite like the legendary Roy Halston and in the newly-released documentary, ULTRASUEDE: IN SEARCH OF HALSTON, filmmaker Whitney Sudler-Smith takes fashion lovers on a fabulous fun-and-fact filled journey through the designer’s life and times.
Check out the trailer above, and snag tickets for this week's opening at the IFC Theater in New York City here.
