Beauty Dilemma: Color Contact Lenses

When it comes to fashion, there will always be an ever-changing line of accessories that are considered to be the new “in” thing. One accessory that has been rated high for quite some time now, without getting much coverage in magazines, is color contact lenses.

So, how do you know that color contacts are as hot and trendy as we say? Well, we have spotted more than one celebrity out and about while wearing these types of lenses. Some seem to have become so addicted to this little fashion accessory that they will not leave their home without it. With summer almost in full swing, color contacts are becoming increasingly popular.

When looking into color contacts you might notice that there are four different types to choose from. They differ quite a bit and they all have their different purposes.

  • Color Tints – Perfect if you want to change the color of your eyes completely and give yourself a new look
  • Enhancement Tints – If you merely want to enhance the color of your eyes, rather than change them completely.
  • Special Effect Contact Lenses – This lens will add color and animation to your eyes. Often used in Hollywood movies and during Halloween.
  • Light-Filtering Tints – Perfect for outdoor sports as they are designed to minimize glare and to give UV protection.

If you are interested in the most popular lenses amongst the celebs, you would want to look at enhancement tints and color tints. Color tints are by far the most popular as they are easy to match with clothes and make-up. The fact that they come in so many different colors only make them even more sought after.

Another good thing about color contact lenses is that everyone can wear them. It does not matter if you have a eye condition (nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism), as they are available with zero optical power. However, remember that everyone needs a prescription to wear contacts, as they have to be fitted to the shape of your eyes. So visit your eye doctor before buying them.
