From the Editor's Desk: FTC Disclosures

By now, I'm sure most readers have heard the buzz on the recent FTC ruling, which will require bloggers to disclose any and all material relationships on site beginning December 1, 2009.

Though I've never been explicit in individual posts, I'm guessing that most regular readers of the site realize that I'm able to attend many press-exclusive events and that as a result of that access and my relationships with public relations agencies, I frequently receive press samples for editorial review (yes, I'm a lucky girl, I know!) These press samples run the gamut from sample vials of fragrance to gift cards to retailers to full size luxury beauty products, etc.

That said, anything and everything featured on site are products, collections, etc. that I truly believe are worth the money. In fact, when I'm deciding what to review, I think to myself, "Would I actually purchase this item if I hadn't received it as a sample?" - If the answer is 'yes', I review it on site. If the answer is 'no' or if I feel wishy-washy about it, I don't.

In the interest of the FTC ruling, starting today, each post will now include a disclosure when you hover over the relevant product link. Try it on the Vaseline Sheer Infusion post below or here: XXX PRODUCT.

If you have any questions or comments, please share them here and I'll do my best to answer!

Thanks for reading!
