On My Body: Rebecca Minkoff's Becky Silk Jacket

On Oscars night, I was lucky enough to swing by a fabulous US Weekly viewing party, which was graciously sponsored by Piperlime. Praise the heavens that Piperlime saw fit to gift me with a $100 gift card, which burned a hole in my pocket until I spent close to $300 MORE on the snazzy, gorgeous impeccably constructed Becky Silk Jacket seen above.

Designed by Rebecca Minkoff, who's best known for her bags (obvs), this blazer is easily going to become a wardrobe STAPLE (I may not have a crystal ball, but this I know) as it can do the proverbial versatility thing.  I'm currently rocking over a cream silk Club Monaco tee, black eternity scarf by The Limited and distressed Diesel jeans and I look polished enough to parade in front of my CEO, whereas slinking around is generally more my style.

I digress. If you need a snazzy new silk jacket (this one's also available in pink, by the by), pick it up for $348 at Piperlime.

OOTD: For the Love of Danny Roberts

Let me tell you a little story. A few months ago, I joined a brainstorm for a leading t-shirt brand at Attention (the gracious agency that gives me both an office and a paycheck).  In that brainstorm, I came up the GENIUS idea to partner with the uber-talented blogger/illustrator Danny Roberts of Igor & Andre to screen his blogger illustrations on that brand's tees and distribute.  While the client didn't bite (not everyone has the vision I do, what can I say?), a CERTAIN multi-million dollar company by the name of, oh, FOREVER 21, did and Danny Roberts' amazing t-shirt collaboration hit stores just last week.

Since I can't abide by the Forever 21 shopping experience here in the city, I ordered no fewer than three tees online and was pleasantly surprised when they arrived - they're deliciously soft and drapey, a la Alex Wang. Just one word to the wise...if you're a woman-sized person as opposed to a girl-sized person, you'll want to size up.  I'm wearing a Large above. Here are the rest of my outfit deets:

OOTD: Spring Fling Friday

Today is the FIRST day of 2010 that truly feels like Spring and I'm loving it! I let the season dictate my style this morning and here's what I'm wearing today:

How did your wardrobe celebrate the season? Do tell!

File Under 'Genius' : Rafaella's Interview Kit

While I'm blessed to work in a more creative biz environment, there are still countless women forced to serve their desk duty in a suit.  For those women, Rafaella's Interview Kit is absolutely genius.

Packaging five classic wardrobe pieces that mix and match seamlessly, this kit will take you from your first interview through your first week in the office. It includes:

  1. White button down
  2. Blue button down
  3. Blazer
  4. Pencil Skirt
  5. Trouser

The latter three items are available in either black or charcoal - either way you can't go wrong.  Snag it for $220 (NOT A TYPO, that is $220 for all five pieces!) at a Macy's store near you and you'll never think, "I've got nothing to wear!" again.
