In Which I Fail at a Project Runway Challenge IRL

Last night, my friends at Style Coalition hosted an Art of Fashion-themed viewing party for what remains one of TV's most stylish shows - Project Runway. Presented by PR sponsor HP, I was challenged to both color block myself (ahem, unsuccessful) AND to create a look inspired by last night's Project Runway episode, which centered around mid-century art at The Guggenheim.

While I was pretty proud of the Grecian-inspired dress I draped, unwearable as it may be (uh, there was only one arm hole), the best 'design' of the evening went to dastardly Jenni of I Spy DIY, who took hom the latest
HP ENVY X2. You can't win 'em all, kids!

What I wore to fail:

  • J.Crew Chambray Shirt (similar here)
  • Three Dots Silk Cargo Pant (no longer available)
  • Schutz Cap Toe Pump

Win It: A Tee a Day from Three Dots

My friends at three dots are celebrating Valentine's Day in style this year - by giving away one of their best selling essential tees a day to Facebook fans.

Available in a full spectrum of styles (some basic, some sassy!) and colors (again...some basic, some sassy!), the Essentials collection is crafted of the highest quality, ring-spun, combed cotton and enzyme washed with softener, resulting in a luxuriously soft cotton tee that doesn't pill or stretch out.  three dots even uses premium fiber-reactive dyes that ensure the color of the tee won’t bleed or fade.

You can't win without entering, so Like “three dots” on Facebook and then leave a comment on today's post spotlighting the free tee of the day. One winner will be chosen at random from comments left on the same day, and don't be shy about commenting as there's no limit on how many times you enter or how many tees you can win.

Good luck, homies!

OOTD: Go For the Faux

Those who know me know that it's pretty unusual that I fall hard for faux anything. And while faux fur is having a real mo' this fall, I personally feel that it makes many women look like stuffed animals. And unless you're into the whole Furry lifestyle, that's not hot. Thankfully, this rad Three Dots supima cotton fleece jacket breaks the cycle of horrid faux fur by being blatantly ridiculous. In the best way possible.

What I dig most about this jacket is the glaring contrast between the comfortable fleece base fabric (it's much like a sweatshirt, to be clear) and the bold, tipped faux fur, which inspired one dear coworker to exclaim that I looked like a lion. That's good, right? It's also toasty warm, and adds a much needed touch of glamour to a pre-holiday "casual Wednesday" OOTD.

Head to toe:
